WHERE WE CAME FROM

Mike Bradley first crossed paths with Sharon Ahlstrom back in 1993 when he came to see her for tax advice. Mike's career in Computer Sciences at the time enabled Mike and Sharon to work together to help build her tax practice through the use of modern technology and innovations in workflow. In turn, Sharon shared with Mike all of her vast knowledge and experience in the role of the tax preparer, which she had accumulated over her nearly 30 year career. Mike was inspired to learn more about tax advocacy and the intricacies of the tax code and as a result gained recognition as a Registered CTEC Tax Preparer in the State of California. Sharon and Mike worked several tax seasons together helping people gain a greater understanding of what it is to be a smart and responsible taxpayer.

Under Sharon's guidance and using the expertise she gained from training at a leading national tax school, Mary Ryan gained a love and respect for the taxpayer and the hurdles they face each and every day. Mary and Sharon grew up together and shared nearly 4 decades of love and companionship through which Mary gained a deep appreciation for the work that Sharon did.

Mary partnered with Mike shortly after Sharon’s passing and together ensured the legacy that Sharon had established over the previous 30 years would not be allowed to pass quietly into history. Now, in respect to the legacy that Sharon left behind, Mary and Mike continue the high standards and tradition of excellent customer service and satisfaction with AHLSTARZ Tax and Accounting Service.

WHO WE ARE

AHLSTARZ Tax and Accounting Service was founded in 2006, as the result of a partnership between Michael Bradley and Mary Ellen Ryan. AHLSTARZ was originally the firm of Sharon A. Ahlstrom, EA and Associates, which was established in 1982 by long-time accounting veteran and taxpayer advocate Sharon A. Ahlstrom, EA. AHLSTARZ is located in the beautiful city of Long Beach, California. We are 5 minutes from Downtown Long Beach and conveniently located next to the 710 Freeway.

OUR VISION

Following in the footsteps of our founder, Sharon A. Ahlstrom, EA it is our responsibility to provide our clients with the best possible income tax and accounting advice and service, regardless of the complexity or scope of their needs. Our desire is to service every client with equal respect and attention. We place great focus on the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender members of our community, and the ever-increasing intricacy of the income tax and financial issues we face. We will continue to work as an advocate of the taxpayer, no matter their financial situation, tax complexity, experience, education or background.
